a few hidden gems.

Today I was searching for ONE specific photo that I can NOT find anywhere. ugh. I hate losing stuff. But in the process I did find some photos that I had completely forgotten about! I love that about photos.
 and that is why I will continue to take a million for the rest of my life. I love that you can snap a photo so quick and not think twice about it. And then a few months or even years later you go back and look at that photo and it means a  whole lot more.

draggin'

Listen, I know it doesn't change anything to complain but.. I'm just really wishing January was over by now. It's draggin you know what. Things are busy hectic but it still has to be the most monotonous month ever. I'm ready to get away. The thing that is keeping me going is the fact that Nate and I may or may not be planning a pretty awesome vacation for summer time. Warm weather can not come fast enough. I'm being a debbi downer. and I'm okay with it.

Nate took me to lunch yesterday, he's the best.

Sunday dinner!

I wanted just ONE good picture. that was too too much to ask. ha!

I LOVE this thing. So nerdy but so fun. I wish I could get away with wearing it everywhere.

Nate got me a new pair of my old leopard shoes. Make sense?

Sassy.

saying goodbye to 2013 and one word.

2013 has been one heck of a year. I don't know why I get all sentimental when I have to say goodbye to a year but I do. It's weird.

it's safe to say 2013 will always be one of my very favorites. after all,  a LOT has happened.

From meeting the man of my dreams in January, to getting engaged in March.(talk about speedy) HA Spring break in Cali and a best friend trip to Florida. Motorcycle rides in the summer heat and late nights with my favorite guy.

Getting MARRIED in July and spending a perfect honeymoon on the beach. Learning how to live with a boy/ how to be a married girl . weekend trips and newlywed adventures. riding a scooter through  Mexico & spending the holidays right by Nate's side. there is nothing better.understanding what it means to feel whole.

Anyways as you may recall last year I had a "one word" for the year. (remember last years word?)
 I am a sucker for new years resolutions so i like to add a word in there just for fun. I have had a hard time coming up with my one word for the year but I think I finally have it.

BOLD.
beyond the usual limits of conventional thought or action;

not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger or rebuff;

not hesitating to break the rules of propriety; forward;

 I want to live boldly in every aspect of my life.

So Nate and I went and saw The secret life of Walter Mitty last weekend and OH MY GOSH!!!  I have not had much interest in movies lately but I can honestly say it was the BEST one I have seen in.. well.. like ever.

It was all about travel and adventure and finding yourself in this big world. How you can't waste away your life wishing you had done the things that you want to.

TRAVEL. EXPLORE.CREATE. TRY SOMETHING NEW.TAKE A FREAKING CHANCE.

You have to find out who you are and be OKAY with it. embrace it. embrace your quirks and individuality. embrace others too. It seriously put that wander-lust feeling right back into my bones. Not that it ever left, but it got buried with the hectic-ness of life for a moment you know?

I'm ready to take on 2014 boldly. I really am.

best quote from the movie.

let your heart be light

 I absolutely LOVE the holiday season. (how could you not?)
 It's been so fun getting our house all festive and ready for Christmas! I can't wait.
 I have also LOVED picking out stuff for Nate. It's definitely been a change being in charge of someone else's Christmas gifts but I have loved it.
 I think I'm more excited to have Nate open his gifts than he is. ha ha
And I'm over here crossing my fingers he remembers what I told him I wanted. joking. kinda.
Anyway we have been busy around here with family and shopping and playing in the snow and watching Christmas movies. oh and lets not forget the night we had to take the ym and yw to temple square.
What.an.experience.
Safe to say Nate and I don't plan on having children for a looooong time. :)

Baby sisters 12th birthday!

Our first tree

We are crazy and took a walk in a blizzard

starting to look more like home

I want one of these homely looking jackets. The WARMEST ever.

my mama and I on my FIRST Christmas!

We had fun until Nate had to carry the deacon who threw a fit. yikes.

cruisin'!

A few weeks ago we got to go on our very first cruise! What can I say? I LOVED IT. We are totally going on another one. Nate's grandparents took their WHOLE family over thanksgiving to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. So sweet of them. We had such a blast on the ship hottubbing, stuffing our faces with the BEST food, dancing, re enacting titanic, ordering room service,but my favorite thing HANDS DOWN was the 24/7 soft serve ice cream cones!!! oh my heck. Everyone laughed at me because I always ordered a fancy dessert at dinner but could never eat it because all that I wanted was an ice cream!! they were so so good.
first day on the boat after a 15 hour bus drive. can you tell we hadn't even showered? yikes.

Captain's night

going hot tubbing at midnight!

One of my favorite things EVER! we explored the island on this bad boy.
