weekend at the lake

A weekend at Bear lake in a cabin right on the beach=the perfect way to end a semester. The weather was perfect. The people were great. We laughed until 530 in the morning, so I would say it was a success. We rode home with windows down and our hair flying everywhere. We listened to our favorite songs and i think it's finally hitting me: I am starting to smell the carefree scent of summer. and i couldn't be happier.

It's times like these that make me want to stay right here, at this age forever.

my favorite lyrics today

I go through stages with favorite lyrics. but today, a few stick out to me. I have this weird thing where I always have to pick out my favorite phrase from a song. it's kind of a disease, buttt it really helps me remember lyrics.

"I got soul, but I'm not a soldier."-the killers

"Keep your head still, i'll be your thrill. the night will go on, my little windmill."-blink 182

"And even though she moved away we always get calls from our daughter. She has eyes just like her father, they are blue when skies are gray. and just like him she never quits. never takes a day for granted."-FUN

"the smoke sank into my skin, so i came outside to be with you. we talked all night about everything you could imagine. cuz come the morning i'll be gone. and as our eyes start to close, i turn to you and i let you know. that i love you."-the format

"then my gypsy life started taking it's toll. and the fast lane got empty and out of control."-Toby Keith

"I'm gonna burn for you, you're gonna melt for me."-Garret Hudland

"color the coast with your smile. i'ts the most genuine thing i've ever seen,"-Dashboards

"The more i see the less i know, the more i'd like to let it go".-Red Hot Chili Peppers

"So read your books but stay out late. sometimes. sometimes. "-JAcks Mannequin

"'I'm just a summer girl, I wear my flip flops and when i let my hair down, that's when the party starts. who needs a boyfriend? I got my girlfriends and when we get together.. the summer never ends."-Leighton Meester

california dreamin

Last week I was explaining/whining to my parents about how badly i wished i was still in California. and kindly began begging them to take the fam on a trip there this summer. maybe for a week or two.
sadly, my convincing just wasn't enough. But my dad DID find me a song to listen to on You-Tube.
that generous man.
it was called California dreamin' by the Mamas and Papas.
all week i have hummed that song. it's pretty rad.
I'm not sure what it is about the golden state that calls to me so much.
maybe the warm weather? the sun? the beach? the hustle and bustle? the unique stores all around? the people to see? the palm trees or the salty air? Maybe it's because i want to be a surfer. or because multiple people have told me I look like i should live in California. (not sure what that exactly entails, but I'll take it.)
All i know is that it's been exactly a month since i was there and i am more than ready to go back.
pretty sure i have a gypsy soul.
It's a strange feeling really..to be so sure you belong somewhere different than where you are.
sometimes it's frustrating. but other times I just have to say to myself "all in due time."

ha this video just cracks me right up. except I'm pretty sure i have the same clothes as the girl on the left. that's embarrassing.

What better way to celebrate a b-day than a lil karaoke??

We sang "Good bye Earl" and I hate to be cocky but we were crowd pleasers.

I couldn't have asked for a better 20th birthday. I have the greatest friends in the world. they're pretty crazzzy. annnnnd 20 is feeling pret-ty wonderful. (but i'll probably always be a teenager at heart.)

nineteen.

nineteen is a solid age.
after tomorrow I'll never say the words "I'm nineteen" ever again.
that makes me feel melancholy.
I hope twenty is just as wonderful as nineteen was.
or just my teenage years in general.
i can't believe they are already over.
i hope the adventures don't stop.
I'm sure i'll look back one day and think "those were the best days of my life."
because this far they really are.
i loved being a teenager.
I'm dreading turning twenty years old.
end of story.
swinging on my last day being a teen
