YOLO weekend
Me and my {favorite} work friends have been on this kick lately. Every exciting/risky think that comes our way we say "come on, its a yolo moment." which basically means you can do something as stupid as you want because you.only.live.once.
This passed .weekend we went on a yolo camp trip to bearlake! we went with our my parent's better judgement and decided to skip out on our idea to leave thursday night at 2 am to head up to our camp site. but YOLO! anyway, it was one of my favorite weekends. we played in the water all day, soaked up some serious sun rays, told stories, ate burgers and milkshakes, roasted mallows around the fire, and laid out underneath the stars laughing our little guts out until 430 in the morning. Yolo.
The next day we headed on a new adventure high in the mountatins to cliff jump and rope swing into an ice cold mountain lake. I was so nervous for the rope swing that Matt just had to push me. Yolo. Cliff jumping was exhilerating and i was a lot more brave for that. on the way home we did push ups on the utah/idaho border. yolo.
Honestly these days have got to be some of the very best. I love the feeling of living FREE.
I love that i have such wonderful friends that i can make some of the best memories with.
I would be content to stay in this summer forever.

this is happening
I did it today. I purchased my plane ticket to half a world away. I will be going to Ghana, Africa in less than two months. I am seriously freaking out a teeny bit. But Mainly with excitement. (I'll worry about the shots and malaria pills a bit later) I think I'm most excited that I now KNOW that if you want something bad enough. You work your A off to get it. and guess what? It can actually happen. That is exciting!

country music
This summer I have been INFATUATED and i mean INFATUATED with country music. In all different forms. I took a break from country for quite some time but I guess I've gone back to my roots. Summertime just screams country music to me. I have a whole list I have been loving on this summer but today one in particular stands out.
Oh it's just so good. I have listened to this song for about 12 years, BUT the other day it just HIT me. you know when that happens with a song? It happens when you know the tune and the lyrics but one day you realize how you seriously RELATE to the song and instantly add it to your "rapin' repeat" playlist. Does that happen to anyone else? oh, that's fine.
Read the Lyrics! Sooo Goooood!!
Hot sun dancin' on the river
We're sittin on the bank and watch the world go by
Our feet in the water she pressed her lips to mine
We were so long on love but short on time
She could be a honeymoon sweet and a little wild
But she was mine oh, for a little while
And I laugh everytime I start to think about us
We sent that summer out in style
And she's gone but she let me with a smile
'Cause she was mine for a little while
We'd take a ride and head on down to airport road
Put the seats back watch the planes leave town
She always said nobody's strong enough to tie her down (my fav. line)
Oh but I wasn't lookin' for that anyhow
I knew she'd leave but I didn't know when
It matters to me now oh but it didn't back then
And I laugh everytime I start to think about us
We sent that summer out in style
And she's gone but she let me with a smile
'Cause she was mine for a little while
I keep seein' pictures now of me and her and those summer nights
My mind fills with her
Oh but it's alright
'Cause I laugh everytime I start to think about us
We sent that summer out in style
And she's gone but she let me with a smile
'Cause she was mine for a little while
Yeah she was mine for a little while
We're sittin on the bank and watch the world go by
Our feet in the water she pressed her lips to mine
We were so long on love but short on time
She could be a honeymoon sweet and a little wild
But she was mine oh, for a little while

just a load
Hi. This past week was the fourth of july
in case you missed it. It's my most favorite holiday EVER. I love
everything about it. it's in the prime of summertime. Fireworks,
barbeques, pool time, tan skin, it doesn't get much better in my
opinion. I got to finally spend it with my fam this year and I loved
that.
Also the fifth of july was wonderful.
I woke up to gray clouds and groaned a bit. I shivered (along with the
kids) all during morning swimming lessons. Around noon it began to
DOWNPOUR!! I have never been so grateful for rain. we closed the pool
and all went home for the day. superb.
Lastly,
I went with fam on a little weekend getaway! (all the way to idaho, if
you can even imagine.) We swam, shopped, ate, visited grams, enjoyed a freak rain storm, worked on
the cabin, rode 4wheelers, and laughed plenty. It was the perfect
weekend. Photobomb? success. |

mom jeans
Last night i did something a tad bit daring. (not my usual kind of daring)
I wore...
mom jeans.
to a movie. a midnight movie that was jammed pack. lolz clearly my mind is being affected by TOO much sun.
butttt oh well, because I wore em proudly anyway. They are fun and I mean I've learned at my wise age that if it makes YOu happy, you should wear it. end of story.
Moral of this post: If you are contemplating buying a pair of mom jeans: DO IT. you won't regret it
.(that is until your little bro comes in singing "mommm jeans! *now with the exclusive nine inch zipper")

wanderlust
I can't believe it is already the last day of June. WHY does summer have to go by so fast? year after year, same story. I can't complain too much because June has really been a wonderful month. Plenty of sun, pool, orange sunsets, bike rides, snowies and all that other summery stuff i can never seem to get enough of.
Also, I've changed my plans once again for the fall. I decided i'm going to take a (small) break from college and instead spend my summer income on an international volunteer trip. What the? Yep. truth is I have ALWAYS wanted to do it and the other day it just hit me. NOW is the PERFECT time. So that is that.
The hardest part is deciding where to go, but i think i have narrowed it down to my top three. 1. Costa Rica 2. Ghana 3. Guatemala oooh what a tough choice.
Welp, here are some instagram shots.
